London is probably my favourite city. Loads to see, do and get into. Even better it's English--so language problems. I have seen a lot of this beautiful city and feel compelled to give my top 12 hotspots.
1. The National Gallery: I really love going to this place. It has so much wonderful art. It's big and spacious and never a bore. Even better it's free.
2. Sadler's Wells Dance House: This place presents some of the best live dance shows from Tango and Flamenco to Salsa and Classical. I have seen a number of great flamenco shows here and look forward to seeing other presentations.
3. Covent Garden: This is really fun place to go. Loads to see. I enjoy visiting just to see what's going on. A live street performance, checking out a cool ethnic restaurant, hitting the shops and getting lost. I have never seen a show in the West End before but would love to see Billy Elliott, Jersey Boys or Wicked.
4. The Euston 18 Route: I have travelled up to London and stayed with my friend Gary on several occassions and yes taking in the scenary on the number 18 from Euston into Willesden is quite interesting. There's an array of vibrance in all the various ethnic groups you see. On ocassion I will pop off the bus to check out a nice Persian or African restaurant. Full of beat!
5.Bayswater/Notting Hill: One of my favourite neighbourhoods for checking out charity and vintage shops. There must be a shop every few feet. This is the ultimate place to find cool vintage or gently used donated clothing. The Oxfam shop in Westbourne Grove is awesome.
6. Sloane Square: Another wonderful place for shopping and that's if it's a good day. While I can barely afford this area it is great to walk the streets and do something I would not normally do--window shop. There are a few delectable dessert and coffee bars in this area as well. Very posh and always gives you something exciting to look at. One of my must shops is Tiffany & Co. Sometimes you can find a great thing for little.
7. The Southbank: Great for a bit of scenary by the Thames. One place I like to venture into is the Courtauld Gallery with it's small collection of beautiful classic art. Another fun thing to do is take a spin on British Airways London Eye, spend an afternoon at the London Aquarium and walk along the Embankment.
8. A bus ride through Central London: Beautiful and classic architecture is so exciting and some of the most fabulous places in London to see it is in the City. Any bus just about will take you through some of the finest neighbourhoods in Kensington and Chelsea; tremendous home and exquisite gardens are a must see.
